THE SPIDER AND THE BEE”
by Steven Press and Directed by Colleen Lewis
Presented by THEATRE ARTS CONSERVATORY
What is more important? Math or art? Science or music? In The Spider and the Bee we meet a very serious Spider who believes “we were born to think and the sciences and math are what make us think” and a funny little Bee who only believes in the power of poetry, art and music. Spider tries to convince the Bee that nothing of importance comes from art, poetry or music. Bee says Spider lives in a dull and narrow world and nothing good comes of science or math. Who is right? A trial is held and both Spider and Bee argue their points of view while a jury of a termite, butterfly, ladybug and you decide who is the “winner” of this debate.
